This privacy policy sets out how we collect, use, share and protect information that you give us when you use "The Simple Sustainable Store" website (the “Site”). Throughout this policy, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Simple Sustainable Store.

In the event that we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the Site, please be aware that such information will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page, in order to reflect legal and/or regulatory changes, or changes to our practices. You should check this page regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes.

1. Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)

This Privacy Policy is governed by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy does not create any rights or obligations for either you or us in addition to those imposed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Collection of information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site.

(c) other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers.

In these circumstances we imply that you consent to our collecting this information and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing or competitions, we will either ask you directly for your express consent, or provide you with an opportunity to opt out.

We require the information referred to at paragraph 2 above to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

We will not contact you to promote The Simple Sustainable Store's products if you have requested us not to do so.

5. Cookies

Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

This Site may contain links to other websites of interest. Please be aware that once you use such links to leave the Site, we do not have any control over these other websites. 7. Accessing and controlling your personal information

You may request access to view your personal information that we hold. If you contact us to request such access, we will need to verify your identity before complying with your request within a reasonable period of time.

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information held by us in the following ways:

(a) whenever you are asked to fill in a form on this Site, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes;

(b) if you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by emailing us or by unsubscribing on emails you receive;

(c) if you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

We do not store credit card details as we use payment gateways and/or third party processors (eg PayPal). Accordingly, we do not have access to your credit card numbers.

All credit card transactions are implemented under industry standard encryption.

We use secure systems to store most of your personal information and it contains security features, such as encryption, firewall and anti-virus, to ensure the protection and integrity of our data.

9. Disclosure of Personal Information to third parties

We will not disclose your personal and sensitive information to third parties for payment, profit or advantage.

We may disclose your personal and sensitive information to third parties, from time to time, to assist us in conducting The Simple Sustainable Store’s business. Such disclosure includes but is not limited to the following forms of disclosure:
